Kirk Aranda is leaving YO! Disabled & Proud April 14th, 2016

Kirk Aranda joined CFILC in 2011 as our first Disability Capitol Action Day Intern from Sacramento State University. Shortly after he became staff of the YO! Disabled & Proud program. Kirk has held his position in YO! for almost five years. Longer than anyone else before him. He’s supported over 60 YO! Volunteer Corps members. He’s organized a number of youth to testify at legislative hearings and committee meetings and hundreds of youth to participate in Disability Capitol Action Day. He’s represented YO! Disabled & Proud at countless outreach events and has presented on behalf of YO! at a a large number of conferences and schools around the state.

Last year, Kirk, co-organized about a dozen #ADA25 Forums around California. He brought youth with disabilities together to learn the value of the Americans with Disabilities Act and why it matters.

Kirk has announced that he will be leaving CFILC & YO! Disabled & Proud at the end of this month. His last day will be Wednesday, April 27th.  Kirk will be greatly missed and YO! will not be the same without him. CFILC will be hosting a goodbye gathering for Kirk on Tuesday, April 26th at 3:30 in our conference room.

We wish Kirk nothing but the best and hope that his next career chapter at the Department of Equalization is YOsome!
